For my final project in my Documentary Photography class I photographed the life of Dr. Anthony Waskie.

So I am Brett Mandel’s official photographer!?!??!
Okay so I haven’t been posting in awhile because I am extremely busy and lazy! What a shocker!?!?!
However, I thought that this deserved a posting!
Today in my State and Local Politics class we had a guest speaker come in. His name was Brett Mandel and he is currently running for Philadelphia’s City Controller.
My professor told us that if we helped him or another politician with their campaign we would get extra credit. So while he was talking I kept thinking to myself: “How am I going to help him? I hate politics?”
Then out of the blue I realized that I could ask to be his photographer. I thought he probably had one, so I waited till the end of his discussion to ask. He told me that he did not have one and asked if I knew any photographers.
At this point I was super excited and said me!!!!! Then his assistance Dewitt gave me his contact information and I gave him mine as well.
About an hour ago I FINALLY checked my gmail and there was this email waiting for me!

Lisa,
Good to meet you today. We would be very much interested in having you fill the position of official campaign photojournalist.
I usually put together an itinerary for each day of the campaign that I distribute the a day before the actual day. It has a list of all of Brett’s public appearances. I am happy to cc you on it. That way, you will know where Brett is and if you are available, can come and take some pictures of him in action.
Addiitionally, it has been our plan to put together a Flickr website for Brett. I’m happy to turn that function entirely over to you and let you manage that feature of brett’s website.

I can not believe this is going to happen for me.
I intend to work for free because I know that he does not have any money to spare. Just being able to be his official photographer is rewarding enough for me.
I am so excited to start shooting!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I regret is not living in Philadelphia because I can not vote for him. He seems like a real honest man, you should check his website out and see what he is all about.

“My World”
For this assignment I decided to not take stereotypical photographs of my life. Instead I thought that it would be interesting to have my feet in every photograph. This would allow my audience to kind of see “My World” the way I see it. After all I am the only person who sees what I see from that particular perspective.
